Under construction · a rhythm duel

Rhythm and Blade

These are the first gameplay tests, against a greybox attacker, on six film-score battles. Every glowing line is a hit in the music. You have three hearts: each miss costs one, and losing the third starts the duel again.

A S D press when a glowing line touches its pad to dodge: left, down, right. He strikes from the side you dodge away from, and slices across at head height when you duck.
Blue line = bullet time. Press it and keep holding: the world slows and one blow crawls in. Let go as its tail touches the pad to dodge it. Orange line = rapid. Press it, then dodge the quick blows in the other two lanes: tap them, or slide the finger that holds the line between them.
The glowing band at the pads is the timing window: press while a line is inside it (switch it off under Timing).
At an opening the pads become one red ATTACK button: tap it on the beat (W or Space). The last one is a long red line with a notch: press and hold, then let go on the notch to strike, or keep holding past it to spare him.
On a phone, just tap: the lanes, then the red bottom row. Arrow keys work too. Esc pauses.
